Elastic Swarm
Model / Exhibit
The dimensions are taken from an old industrial site,
The Eaton Grain Silo, in Oxfordshire which has since been demolished.
The model is at a scale of 1:100 and composed of elastic threads,
rubber tubes, two way mirror and opal acrylic. The model was
shown at the London Art Benniale Jan 2015 and at the
World Stage Design Exhibition July 2017.
Fuel
The figures have jet packs that make them vibrate on the elastic
which in turn shakes. The jet pack is a motor that we find in our
mobile phones. They are always on the go. Their amplitude
is relatively low so from time to time they judder about.
